Gov
Ocampos brings water to the people
No doubt, the need for water is one of the most basic
of all needs of Misamisnons. Governor Loreto Leo Ocampos has responded
to the call by prioritizing this need in his programs and projects for
his constituents.
The Municipalities of Calamba, Sinacaban, and Tudela are the beneficiaries
of the water system projects of our beloved Governor. With close to
P6.3M worth of allotments, grants, and fundings, the Provincial Government
will be realizing the dreams of these barangays of having potable water.
Barangays Bunawan, Calaran, Don Bernardo Neri, Magcamigning, Northern
Poblacion, Solinog, and Southwestern Poblacion of Calamba Town will
benefit from the Water System project after the Provincial Government
of Misamis Occidental through Governor Leo Ocampos has granted P4.8M
to the Municipal Government of Calamba. The Calamba Municipal Government
will assume and take over from the Misamis Occidental Water District
(MOWD) the Water System project. This will enable the faster facilitation
and fast tracking of the project.
Meanwhile, the hinterlands of Sinacaban, and Tudela will soon have their
own potable water. Firm in his commitment to bringing water and making
it accessible in many remote areas where water is scarce, Governor Leo
Ocampos has allocated P2.5M for the construction of the Tongo Water
System Project in Tudela Town.
This multi-million worth of Water System Project is a partnership of
several stakeholders such as the Agrarian Reform Community Development
Program (ARCDP) – World Bank, Local Governments of Tudela and
Sinacaban, and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental. This
project once completed will supply water to the Municipalities of Sinacaban
and Tudela.
The barangays of Buenavista and Camating in Tudela Town and the barangays
of Katipunan, San Isidro Alto and Bajo, and Libertad Alto and Bajo in
Sincaban Town and other neighboring barangays will benefit directly
from this project.
This project is also under the Agrarian Reform Community Development
Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform which has also allocated
funds in the project in terms of providing additional pipes in order
for further extend and widen the flow of water giving further benefits
to various Agrarian Reform Communities in the area.
